Body Armour Protection for the Manned Guarding Sector Manned guarding remains a key service security firms provide. Guards are essential at certain locations – such as construction sites, business & retail parks, industrial estates, etc. – to monitor and protect against unauthorised entry, vandalism, and theft. Not only can trained professionals patrolling a site ensure any situations can be dealt with immediately, they also serve as a deterrent to any potential troublemakers. While some security workers may experience long shifts with no sign of suspicious activity, others may well expect to encounter aggressive individuals from time to time: thieves and vandals could carry...

Security Team Praised

21st April 2014

I would just like to thank James, Shabir & Hamid for a situation we found ourselves in on Thursday afternoon when a car had to stop on Victoria Road, outside Pace, due to the car being on fire, which was incidentally carrying gas cylinders. The fire brigade was called by Security. Until the Fire Brigade arrived, James speedily but safely controlled the area (whilst the driver tried to put out the fire with Pace’s Fire Extinguisher) and arranged his guards to ensure drivers (both ways) and pedestrians were kept well back from the blaze. This was done with great...

Alarm Response

12th November 2013

Many businesses still expect one of their staff members to be on call in case of alarm activations or other emergencies. If this is the case in your business there are one or two thing you should consider: First and most important is the fact that you have a duty of care to your employee. There are several Health & Safety aspects to consider. Do you expect them to respond as quickly as possible when they are half asleep and quite possibly had a relaxing drink before bed? Is this likely to turn a normally safe driver into a dangerous one? Have you provided adequate...

It is not in response to yesterdays events. The policing plans for the forthcoming events have been reviewed. The MPS, British Transport Police and City of London Police are used to dealing with large events and proportionate policing plans are in place for these events. Police ask...

The Pace facility at Salts Mill in Saltaire, Bradford was privileged to receive very special guests on Thursday 19th July when The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh paid a visit to host a lunch for Yorkshire business leaders and local dignitaries. This was a great day for everyone who attended, and a success story for the Morris family whose security firm, Jayfort Security Services Ltd, was praised by the Royal Family's own personal Special Branch protection team for its contribution in ensuring the safety of the Royals. The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were visiting as part of her Majesty's Jubilee tour...

A brief look at Safe Rooms and their applications. by Jeff Morris, Managing Director, Jayfort Security Services Ltd Most people who have heard of a 'Panic Room' probably think of a Hollywood film about a woman holed up in a secure room within her house while intruders are trying to get to her. Panic Rooms go by many different names and whether we call them Safe Rooms, Strong Rooms, Refuges or Citadels, the principal has always been the same since Medieval times; a safe place in times of stress. An obvious candidate for a Safe Room is the high net-worth individual who wants to ensure...
