Static Security Officers
The duties of the Static Security Officer can be as varied as the type of assignment they are posted to, varying from simple “Night Watchman” type duties to high-tech control of both visitors and personnel. Guarding the plant used to dig a hole in the road might be regarded as one side of the spectrum, while an electronics manufacturing facility, chemical or fuel processing plant, transport and logistics company, or the warehouses for a catalogue retailers could be seen as the other side. Jayfort have provided officers to man all of these situations as well as to shops, mills, factories, car showrooms, construction sites, schools, supermarkets, hotel & leisure complexes, art galleries, business parks, retail parks etc. etc. Officers can be first aid trained and will work closely with Health & Safety Officers and with Fire Officers. Car Parks, whether public, private or commercial are all considered as “Soft Targets” by many of today’s villains. The breaking of a window and stealing the new stereo or CD player is accomplished in a matter of seconds. The taking of the car itself only a few seconds more. This is an area where the highly visible, conscientious Uniformed Security Officer can make an immediate impact. Not only by protecting vehicles and contents, but also helping to increase staff moral by escorting personnel safely to their transportation during the dark winter evenings. The Security Officer manning a gatehouse controls access to and egress from the assignment. Accurate and detailed logs are kept of all such movements, whether vehicular or pedestrian. Duties may include spot checks and handbag and vehicle searches, issuing visitor passes, conducting visitor induction etc. depending on the needs of the site.

Officers assigned to reception duties fulfil all the duties expected of a receptionist while adding the trained perception of the Security Officer as well as the deterrent value provided by the uniformed presence.

Jayfort can hold your keys and/or access codes in our secure facility. Should there be intruder alarm activation, fire, flood or any other emergency we will attend your premises on your behalf. We can arrange boarding and glazing services, locksmiths, emergency repairs etc. and will supervise the implementation of these services. If necessary we will appoint a security officer to stay on site until you or your staff arrive for normal duties. The locking and securing of premises is of course a standard part of a Static Guard Security Officer’s duties. This service can also be incorporated into a Mobile Officer’s tour of duty. Attending your premises at the end of your working day the Mobile Officer will thoroughly inspect the building, securing windows, doors etc. before setting the alarm and locking up. The correct use of CCTV systems can be a valuable tool by greatly increasing the area protected by a Security Officer. These systems can vary from a one or two camera/single monitor system to a multiple camera/multi monitor operation. The Officer, trained in CCTV surveillance techniques, can observe several areas simultaneously and be in a position to prevent situations developing into problems.
